When and where do you meet?
Sunday services run at 8:00 AM, 9:35 AM, and 11:10 AM in the Conference Hall, Niger Building, Nile University of Nigeria, Jabi, Abuja. Bible Study is Thursday at 5:00 PM and Prayers are Friday at 5:00 PM in the same venue. Hostel meetings run Monday to Friday — 8:40 PM in White Nile Common Room for the girls (9:00 PM in the Dining Hall on Fridays) and 9:00 PM in Lake Chad Common Room for the boys.
I'm visiting for the first time. What should I expect?
Come as you are. Someone from the welcoming team will meet you at the door and an usher will help you find a seat. A service runs about an hour and a half and includes worship, prayer, and a message from Scripture. Let us know you're coming through the Plan a Visit page and someone will look out for you.
Do I have to be a student at Nile University to join?
No. The fellowship meets on campus, but you are welcome whether or not you study here.
How do I become a member?
Fill in the membership form and someone from the team will reach out to you. In service, a QR code is displayed for you to scan and join the members' WhatsApp group, which is where the day-to-day life of the fellowship happens.
How do I join a department?
You need to have graduated from the Discipleship School first. Once you have, choose the department that fits your gift on the Join a Department page and submit the form. The department lead will contact you about the next steps, and there is a probation period before you are fully welcomed onto the team.
What is the Discipleship School?
A structured season of learning that grounds you in Scripture, prayer, identity in Christ, and how to walk out the Christian life on campus. It starts immediately after the Prayer Conference and runs for four weeks, ending with a graduation. Something runs every day: sessions are online at 8:00 PM, apart from Saturdays, when the class is held physically on campus at 12:00 PM. Teaching falls on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and every other night is a prayer session. The executives and pastorate teach, and the prayer department anchors it.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Sessions are held privately with one of our counsellors and what you share stays between you and them.
